Week 4
The students enjoyed the Australia Day dress up
Day. They looked fantastic and raised just over $1400 dollars which will go to
help those affected by the recent bush fires.
Thank you for all the parents who were able to
attend the Parent Information Evening last week. It was a great turn out and we
hope you found it informative. It was wonderful to meet you all.
Thank you to the families that
have bought in their family photos. The children are enjoying talking about
their family and role-playing different family members in our home corner
Kindy our letter for this week is the ‘A a’ phonic
sound. We will be exploring words that have this sound. For example, apple
starts with Aa. We are learning to recognise our name, this
includes finding our name tag on our bag hooks, finding our names inside the
classroom and playing name games during our mat sessions. This week we are
reviewing the number 1 and learning all about the number 2. We will continue to
identify shapes and colours.
Pre-primary this week we are revising the letters
g, l, o and b. We are working on saying the sounds and blending them together
to read simple words like bat, lot and log. The sight words we are reading are;
like, to, go, mum and dad. This week the students will also be presenting
a short oral presentation about what makes them special. Monday we will send home a
sheet for the students to draw (and parents to write) 3 facts that make them
special. The students will be marked on their presentation. We are looking at
the way they speak, volume, pace and body language as well as the content they
are presenting. We look forward to hearing from all the students.
