Welcome to Term 3!

Welcome to Term 3!

We hope that you have all had a wonderful school holidays and we welcome you to the start of another fun-filled term! We are delighted with all that the children have achieved so far and look forward to watching them progress even further this term!

Kindy
In Literacy we will be reviewing all sounds covered last semester (S,A,T,P,I,N,M,R,C,K,H,E,D) and the new sound we will be learning is Ll for lion. We will continue to practise identifying rhyming words and counting syllables in words using our bodies (head=1, shoulders=2, stomach=3, knees=4).

Pre-primary 
In Literacy we will be reviewing all blend sounds covered in Term 2 (bl,cl,sl,pl,fl,gl,pr,gr,dr,fr,br,cr,tr,sw,sc,sk,sp,st). We will continue to practise identifying rhyming words and counting syllables as well as reading and writing sentences. 

Kindy
In Numeracy we will be focusing on the number 12. Children will practise counting to 12, writing the number 12, and using one-to-one correspondence to count up to 12 items. We will also be revising numbers 1-11 and simple patterns.

Pre-primary 
In numeracy we will be focusing on breaking about numbers to 10. We will also be revising pattern and measurement concepts.

A few key reminders for Term 3:

• Please ensure that your child’s portfolio is returned by the end of Week 2, so that we can keep adding to their portfolio throughout the term.

•All students to please sign and return pink notes so the can enjoy NAIDOC activities this week.

•Kindy have an upcoming incursion with Scitech they need to sign and return the note and money by Wednesday 5th Aug.

•Canteen is up and running Wednesday and Thursday. During week 1 this has had some issues. If you have ordered lunch or recess for your child please remind them to let a teacher know, or if you could let a teacher know in the morning at drop off ensuring they get their meals. 

• Please keep checking the blog regularly, as we will continue to use the blog as a platform to post photos, reminders, and updates on what children are learning at school each week.

• Please continue to work with your child at home to practice concepts taught at school, and most importantly have fun while you do this! – Studyladder is a great way to help your child revise concepts at home and new activities will be added to Studyladder each week.
